Direct from England, a striking pair of hand decorated French chinoiserie bedside cabinets, each richly adorned with gilt butterflies on a deep black lacquered background. 

These cabinets are part of a small group of similarly decorated pieces we have acquired, created by skilled artists, demonstrating superb craftsmanship in a hand-decorated chinoiserie style using a decoupage technique.

The scalloped gallery edge tops are richly adorned with gilt butterflies set against a black lacquered background, with the decoration continuing across each side.  The fronts are similarly decorated, with butterflies surrounding the original brass drawer pulls and complemented by gilt trim accents repeated at each corner.  Elegant cabriole legs support the cabinets, with gilt accents on the petite front scrolled feet.

The excellent attention to details by the artist provides these stunning tables with decorative opulence and a beautiful aesthetic, resulting in a sophisticated addition to today’s home, well suited for use as bedside nightstands or as statement side tables.
